Director, Business Development - PPP

DESCRIPTION:
WANRack is currently looking for an experienced Director, Business Development to support the Public-Private Partnership sector. The position will be based in the Kansas City office or work from home near the strategic WANRack footprint. This chosen candidate will interact with staff and prospective clients via phone, email, and travel is responsible for identifying qualified leads and setting up meetings, and oversees the development of proposals, bids, quotations, RFP responses, or other documents describing the organization's products and services in response to requests from prospective clients.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualify leads of States, Counties, and Cities in desired target states.
Set up conference calls and face-to-face meetings with prospective clients.
Utilize CRM for all sales activity.
Manages and meets proposal deadlines by establishing project priorities and due dates for the proposal.
Collaborates and coordinates with internal contributors and subject matter experts to ensure content is complete, accurate, and maximizes business opportunities.
Ensure timely completion of projects by the due date.
Work with the marketing team to develop a proposal resource library of proposal tools, documents, and graphics. Collaborates to maintain the repository of templates, standard language, product collateral, exhibits, and other data resources to create high-quality and accurate responses.
Attend industry tradeshows and conventions.
Support business and proposal development process improvements.
Up to 30% Travel required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and SalesForce.com.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Strong in account planning and forecasting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to Travel.
Experience in hunting, prospecting, and new account development.
Knowledge of telecommunications services is a plus.
Knowledge of grants and government affairs is a plus.
5+ years experience in strategic or government sales for technology with a documented record of achievement.
Strategic/negotiating skills for large and complex deals.
Develop and leverage relationships with Engineering firms and other networking avenues for projects.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
